Product2024

Objects worth keeping after the campaign is over.

Overview

Apparel and physical product designed alongside the identity rather than after it. Small runs, real materials, and packaging that does not end up in the bin on the way out of the room.

Challenge

Merch was arriving after the identity was locked, as a surface the logo landed on. Long runs in cheap materials meant a storeroom of things nobody wore and a print bill that recurred annually.

Our Approach

Product ran alongside the brand work rather than after it, and physical samples came before the renders were signed off. Materials behave in ways no mockup predicts, and finding that out at production is the expensive way to learn it.

Outcome

Short runs in good materials that went out and stayed out. Packaging designed to survive the walk out of the room, which is a low bar the previous version had not cleared.

We made a third as many and ran out. The old ones are still in a cupboard somewhere.
